¶2The brief facts which has culminated in the filing of this writ petition are set out below:

The respondents settled the terminal benefits of the petitioners with a delay. Therefore, the respondents are legally bound to pay interest to the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners made a representation to the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 10% p.a., for the belated payment of the petitioners' retirement benefits. Since there is no response, the petitioners are before this Court.

¶3Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on records.

¶4Admittedly, the retirement benefits such as Provident Fund, Gratuity, Leave Salary and commutation of pension amount has been paid belatedly for Page4 of 5 no fault of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to interest on the same.
