ORDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking direction to the respondents to grant proper police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

¶2The contention of the petitioner is that he had contested in Harbour Assembly Constituency under the banner of "Thamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam" for Tamil Nadu State Assembly Election, 2026. It is alleged by the petitioner that on 23.04.2026, the said MLA along with a mob, had physically attacked the petitioner and threatened him. Hence, he lodged a complaint on the same day. According to the petitioner it was a pre-planned attack and he was admitted in National Hospital, Parrys Corner. Fearing further attack by the hooligans engaged by the ruling party MLA and Minister, the petitioner had filed the present petition seeking police protection.
