ORDER The writ petition has been filed to issue a writ of mandamus to the respondents to pay the petitioners, the interest at the rate of 10% per annum the belated payment of Gratuity, Leave Salary, Provident Fund and Commutation of pension amounts and to pay 10 days salary with effect from

21.09.2024 to 30.09.2024, 21.10.2024 to 31.10.2024, 21.04.2025 to

30.04.2025, 21.05.2025 to 31.05.2025. 21.06.2025 to 30.06.2025, 21.08.2025 to 31.08.2025, within a time frame fixed by this Court..

¶2The case of the petitioners is that they had joined the services of the respondent-Corporation and had retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioners belatedly and no interest has been paid for the delayed period. Therefore, the petitioners had submitted individual representations to the respondents on 13.04.2026, to pay the interest for the delayed period. The petitioners had also requested to pay their salary for the period viz.,

21.09.2024 to 30.09.2024, 21.10.2024 to 31.10.2024, 21.04.2025 to

30.04.2025, 21.05.2025 to 31.05.2025. 21.06.2025 to 30.06.2025, 21.08.2025 to 31.08.2025. Since the same were not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

¶3The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would fairly submit that the respondents are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.

¶4Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

¶5In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits to the petitioners, and also the other entitlements as prayed by the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶6In the result, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
