¶2The second petitioner is the lawful Power of Attorney agent of the first petitioner. The subject property, measuring an extent of 1 acre and 5 cents, comprised in S.F. Nos. 38/1 and 49, situated at Seevaram Village, Saidapet Taluk, Chingleput District, originally belonged to one Cherian Joseph. The said Cherian Joseph sold a certain extent of land measuring approximately 3,100 sq. m. to M/s. Hospital Equipment Systems, a partnership firm wherein the first petitioner and his wife were partners. The said land was subsequently sub-divided as S.F. Nos. 38/1C and 49/3B. Thereafter, the partnership firm was dissolved, and the first petitioner became the absolute owner of the property. Out of the total extent of 3,100 sq. m., the first petitioner developed an extent of 2,025 sq. m. into apartments, selling the same along with corresponding undivided shares of land (UDS) to 40 apartment owners; consequently, the joint patta stands in the name of the first petitioner along with the other apartment owners. Subsequently, the first petitioner submitted a representation dated
08.01.2026 to the respondents herein, requesting the grant of an individual patta for the remaining extent of land measuring 1,075 sq. m. in his name. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioners have approached this Court.
¶3In reply, Ms.Inthu Karunakaran, learned Government Counsel who takes notice on behalf of the respondent would submit that the petitioner's Page3 of 4 representation dated 08.01.2026 will be disposed of by the respondent within a period of six weeks.
¶4Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.
¶5In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
