Order This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the Respondents to update the petitioners fathers correct name as Lakshmanan instead of Jeevarathinam in Natham, New Patta No 355 (Old Patta No 272) in Survey No 73/14 measuring 2 Arce, (5 Cents) situated at Karnatham Village and Post, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District, within the sub-Registration District of Mangalampatti and Registration District of Virudhachalam based on the petitioner's Application / Representation dated 22.05.2025 and 27.09.2025 within a stipulated time.

¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner submitted an application dated 22.05.2025 to the respondents 2 and 3, along with necessary documents to rectify the mistake and update his father's correct name as Lakshmanan, in the new Patta No.355. But the respondents 2 and 3 have not taken any action on his application to rectify the mistake in the new patta. In this regard, on 27.09.2025, the petitioner sent a representation to the 1st respondent, but it was kept pending and hence, the petitioner has filed the instant writ petition. Page3 of 4

¶3In reply, the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's application dated 22.05.2025 and representation dated 27.09.2025 will be disposed of by the 3rd respondent and appropriate orders will be passed within a period of eight weeks.

¶4Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

¶5In view of the above, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 22.05.2025 and representation dated

27.09.2025 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
