ORDER The present writ petition is filed challenging the impugned order dated

05.06.2026 on the premise that the official respondents have informed the petitioner that they propose to provide electricity service connection to the property belonging to respondents 7 to 9.

¶2Learned counsel for petitioner would submit that petitioner and respondents 7 to 9 are the co-owners of the property and therefore before passing any orders they ought to have been heard, however, it is stated that impugned order came to be passed without even hearing the petitioner.

¶3While the learned counsel for respondents would submit that petitioner was heard, however, a reading of the impugned order does disclose as to when petitioner was heard.

¶4When this was pointed out, learned counsel for respondents would submit that petitioner would be provided with an opportunity of hearing and thereafter appropriate orders would be passed by respondents within a time Page4 of 6 period to be fixed by this Court. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

¶5In view of the above, petitioner and respondents 7 to 9 shall appear before the 4th respondent on 12.08.2026 at 11.00 a.m. for personal hearing and appropriate orders shall be passed by the concerned respondent within a period of two weeks thereafter, in accordance with law and also keeping in view the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law.
