ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs: "directing the respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated

30.05.2025 and consequently grant the benefits in accordance with G.O. No.348, pay commission Department dated 28.11.2017 by extending Special time Scale Pay (Pay Level-2) Rs.4100-Rs.12500) and Lump sum Retirement Benefit of Rs.1,00,000/-to the petitioner in view of the fact that the petitioner is nearing the age of retirement." Brief Facts:-

¶2The petitioner was appointed as Part-Time Librarian in Kattinayanapalli Part-Time Library under the Krishnagiri District Library Authority by proceedings dated 09.07.2002, pursuant to sponsorship by the District Employment Office, and joined duty on 10.07.2002. He has rendered more than twenty-two years of continuous and satisfactory service without any break or adverse remarks.

¶3The petitioner would submit that he has acquired the prescribed educational qualification, namely, the Certificate in Library and Information Science (C.L.I.S.) from Annamalai University, thereby becoming fully eligible for appointment as Village Librarian. Though the Government has, from time to time, regularized similarly placed Part-Time Librarians and issued orders for their absorption into regular service, the petitioner's case has not been Page3 of 4 considered despite his eligibility and long years of service.

¶4Therefore, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated

30.05.2025 requesting appointment as Village Librarian. However, the same has not been considered to date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

¶5Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

¶6Considering the relief sought for by the petitioner and in the absence of any serious objection from the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.05.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
