¶2The brief facts which has culminated in the filing of these writ petitions are set out below:
2.1. It is the case of the petitioners that they are the retired employees of the respective respondent Corporation. The respondents settled the terminal benefits of the petitioners with a delay after several months. Therefore, the respondents are legally bound to pay interest to the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners made a representation to the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 18% p.a., for the belated payment of the petitioner's terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the petitioners are before this Court.
¶3Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on records.
¶4Admittedly, the terminal benefits of the petitioners has been paid belatedly for no fault of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to interest on the same.
