ORDER With the consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

¶2This Writ Petition has been filed by the Petitioner praying to direct the Respondents to consider the Petitioner's Representation dated 18.04.2026 and issue Patta for the property measuring an extent of 11 Acres comprised in Survey No.312 situated at Poonamallee Taluk, Tiruvallur District (hereinafter referred to as "subject property").

¶3The case of the Petitioner is that the subject property was originally belonged to one Mr.Kanthasamy Muthaliar and his mother viz., Mrs.Dhanalakshmi. During the year 1962, the said Kanthasamy Muthaliar and Dhanalakshmi settled the subject property to and in favour of Mr.K.Gnanasekaran (Petitioner's father) by way of a Settlement Deed dated Page3 of 6

11.03.1962 which was registered as Document No.477 of 1962 on the file of Sub Registrar Office, Poonamallee. From the date of execution of said Settlement Deed, Petitioner's father had been in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the subject property till his lifetime. In the year 2019, Petitioner's father submitted an application before the Revenue Authorities, requesting them to issue Patta for the subject property in his name. However, Revenue Authorities rejected his application by citing the reason that S.No.312 is classified as "Lake". Thereafter, Petitioner's father did not take any steps to acquire Patta for the subject property. While so, Petitioner's father had died on

05.09.2020. After his demise, when the Petitioner and his siblings approached the 3rd Respondent and requested to issue Patta for the subject property in their names, 3rd Respondent informed them that S.No.312 is situated antecedent to Lake Survey No.310 and no Patta was issued to any of the portions adjacent to the Lake. Therefore, Petitioner vide Representation dated 18.04.2026, requested the Respondents to issue Patta for the subject property. However, the Respondents have not yet considered the Petitioner's Representation. Hence, left with no other alternative, Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for the relief stated supra.

¶4Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. Page4 of 6

¶5Considering the limited relief sought by the Petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 3rd Respondent to consider the Petitioner's Representation dated 18.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing a notice affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the Petitioner.

¶6This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
