Judgment
ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 4, 5 and 6 to expedite peace committee meeting of Revenue Divisional Officer, Udaiyarpalayam, Ariyalur District (fifth respondent herein) as per the proceeding dated 17.06.2026 on the file of the Inspector of Police T-Palur Police (sixth respondent) inauguration and Kumbabishegam after getting formal permission from Archelogical department Ariyalur District in a peaceful manner by providing adequate police protection by the sixth respondent and permitting the petitioner to organize and conduct inauguration and Kumbabishegam of Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Thiru Koil, Kottiyal Village, Udaiyarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District under the leadership of the petitioner as per the second respondent order in C.M.P.No.1 of 2007 dated 16.02.2007 on the file of second respondent.
2.Accordingly, now the fourth respondent conducted peace committee meeting in which A and B party participated and resolved with some resolutions Page4 of 7 dated 25.06.2026. Thereafter the petitioner filed WPMP Crl. No.538 of 2026 seeking direction to the respondents 1, 2 and 3 to initiate coercive steps to prevent the seventh respondent from conducting any inauguration and Kumbabishegam of Arulmigu Sri Mariammal Thiru Koil, Kottiyal Village, Udaiyarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District and maintain peace and harmony in the Kottiyal Village.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the peace committee meeting both parties agreed to approach the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Board to conduct Kumbabishegam of Arulmigu Sri Mariammal Thiru Koil, Kottiyal Village, Udaiyarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District and after obtaining permission from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Board, Kumbabishegam could be held for Arulmigu Sri Mariammal Thiru Koil, Kottiyal Village, Udaiyarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District. However, now the other party violated the resolution and started with Kumbabishegam proceedings for Arulmigu Sri Mariammal Thiru Koil.
4.This Court repeatedly held that the resolution resolved in the peace committee meeting has no legal sanctity. If there is any violation of any of the resolution, the counter party has to approach the appropriate forum for appropriate relief. Further, if any law and order issue is created by any of the party, the sixth respondent is directed to register FIR as against the person who Page5 of 7 indulge in illegality and proceed in accordance with law.
5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 02-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order pri To The State Rep by
