Order This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to transfer the petitioner from the post of Senior Assistant Surgeon, Government Hospital, Paramathi Velur, Namakkal District to Government Headquarters Hospital, Kulithalai, Karur District or any other place mentioned in the Option Form Submitted on 15.06.2026 before the 4th respondent by considering his representation dated 18.06.2026 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. ¶2The petitioner would submit that he joined Government service as an Assistant Surgeon on 20.09.2011 and completed M.S. (Orthopaedics) in October 2025 as a Service Post Graduate. Pursuant to G.O.(Ms.) No.113 dated
13.03.2026, the respondents conducted Inter-Directorate Speciality Transfer Counselling on 26.05.2026. Though the petitioner opted for Government Headquarters Hospital, Kulithalai, and other nearby Government Hospitals, he was posted as Senior Assistant Surgeon at Government Hospital, Paramathi Velur, Namakkal District. According to the petitioner, a vacancy was available at Government Headquarters Hospital, Kulithalai before the counselling, but the same was not notified, thereby depriving him of an opportunity to opt for that post. Thereafter, he submitted option form and representation dated 02.06.2026 and 18.06.2026 seeking transfer to Government Headquarters Hospital, Kulithalai or other nearby hospitals, but no orders were passed till date. The petitioner would further state that his daughter is suffering from Multiple Osteochondromatosis (Bone Tumour Disease) and requires continuous medical follow-up and treatment. As his family resides at Kulithalai, he has to travel about 150 kilometres daily from Paramathi Velur, causing him great hardship and making it difficult for him to take care of his daughter. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed seeking the aforesaid relief. Page4 of 6
