Judgment
Order This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.6.2026 and direct the respondents to issue patta in the name of the petitioner.
¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the agricultural land measuring 13.5 cents, situated at S.F. No. 123/2 in Nemam 'A' Village, Poonamallee Taluk, Tiruvallur District, by virtue of a Sale Deed dated 17.10.2025. The subject land originally belonged to the late Mr. Mani. The petitioner purchased the subject property from the legal heirs of the said Mani, and a joint patta currently exists for the same. To mutate the revenue records in accordance with the Sale Deed, the petitioner submitted an online application for a patta transfer on 11.03.2026. However, on
01.04.2026, the petitioner received an SMS notification stating that the application was rejected on the ground that the property is "not in the applicant's own enjoyment/possession". Consequently, the petitioner sent a detailed representation dated 10.06.2026 seeking the issuance of a patta for S.F. No. 123/2. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has approached this Court. Page3 of 5
¶3In reply, Mr. M. Guruprasad, learned Government Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 10.06.2026 will be considered and disposed of by the respondents on its own merits, after issuing due notice to the joint patta holders, within a period of six weeks.
¶4Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents, and also perused the materials available on record.
¶5In view of the above, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.06.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent shall sub-divide the property and issue a patta in favour of the petitioner, after issuing due notice to the other joint patta holders and taking into consideration the Sale Deed dated 17.10.2025.
¶6With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 09-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SK Page4 of 5 To
