Judgment
ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent/ Tahsildar, Kancheepuram Taluk, to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2026. Page2 of 6
¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner made a representation dated 18.06.2026 to the 3rd respondent requesting issuance of a written communication confirming the classification of the land comprised in Survey No.331/3A, Govindavadi Village, Kancheepuram Taluk, Kancheepuram District, covered under Patta No.2178 standing in the name of P.C. Thangaraj, S/o. Chokkalingam, as wet land (Nanjai). It is submitted that the said representation has not been considered till date. Aggrieved by the inaction of the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court.
¶3The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the land comprised in Patta No.2178 has already been classified as wet land (Nanjai) in the revenue records. Therefore, the petitioner's request has substantially been satisfied and no further communication, as sought for in the representation, is required to be issued.
¶4Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents. Page3 of 6
¶5This Court finds that the revenue records relating to Patta No.2178, standing in the name of P.C. Thangaraj, S/o. Chokkalingam, already describe the subject property as wet land (Nanjai). In view of the said position, the relief sought by the petitioner for issuance of a direction to consider the representation does not survive for consideration. Consequently, no direction in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus is warranted.
¶6Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. 10-07-2026 Asi To
