Judgment
ORDER The present writ petition has been filed challenging the proceedings/communication dated 22.01.2026 of first respondent, and direct first respondent to provide electricity connection to petitioner's land comprised in S.No.72/1, situated at Uganaiyur Village, Pollikalipalayam Post, Tiruppur District 641 665, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶2Petitioner submitted an application on 06.03.2024 seeking electricity connection in the Fast Track (Tatkal) Self Financing Scheme by paying a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- on 06.03.2024 for carrying out agricultural activities. First respondent vide proceedings dated 22.01.2026, informed petitioner that there are objections raised by neighbours and directed petitioner to sort out the differences between objectors, failing which, appropriate action would be taken. Petitioner would submit that the impugned proceedings has been communicated two years after they submitted the above application. There is unreasonably long delay in processing Fast Track (Tatkal) Self Financing Scheme application. That apart, petitioner would submit that the objection raised by the neighbours are baseless and thus failure to provide electricity connection or rather the Page3 of 7 reluctance to provide electricity connection is for reasons which are wholly extraneous.
¶3At this stage, learned Standing Counsel for first respondent would submit that they would conduct an enquiry with petitioner and neighbours on the petitioner's application dated 06.03.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court and if there is any difficulty, in providing electricity connection and if police protection is required, they would approach the jurisdictional police station and jurisdictional police station may be directed to aid first respondent for providing electricity service connection, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.
¶4This Court suo motu impleads the jurisdictional police station viz., Avinashipalayam Police Station, Ukayanur Village, Tirupur District-641665 as fifth respondent in this writ petition. Registry is directed to carry out necessary amendment in this writ petition.
¶5In view thereof, this Court is inclined to dispose of writ petition with following directions:
i) First respondent shall conduct an enquiry with petitioner, respondents 2 to 4 and neighbours on the petitioner's application dated 06.03.2025, within a period of one week from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for Page4 of 7 the receipt of certified copy;
ii) If any such request to grant police protection is made by first respondent, the jurisdictional police station viz., Avinashipalayam Police Station, Ukayanur Village, Tirupur District-641665 is directed to provide adequate police protection for providing electricity service connection to petitioner;
iii) The above exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy.
iv) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case.
¶6Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. 22-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order MRN Page5 of 7 To
