Karupaiah v. The District Collector

ORDER This writ petition has been filed to direct the official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.06.2026.

¶2Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made a representation dated 16.06.2026 before the respondents seeking necessary steps to allow the deity procession in the north street of Aavatti village and permits north street peoples to participate in the devotional events, which is scheduled to be held on 17.07.2026 in the temple of Arulmigu Sri Varadharajaperumal Thirukoil, Aiyanar, Throwpathiamman Temple situated at Avvati Village, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District. However, the same was not considered, as on date. Hence, this Writ petition.

¶3Mr.C.Prabakaran, learned Government's Counsel accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 and submitted that the first respondent conducted a Page3 of 5 Peace Committee Meeting on 16.07.2026, wherein a decision was taken to conduct the procession only around the temple premises and not through all the streets, to which the petitioner also agreed.

¶4Recording the same, this Court directs the official respondents to conduct the procession in accordance with the findings of the Peace Committee Meeting held on 16.07.2026, in which the petitioner also participated as one of the parties.
