Judgment

ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.06.2026 and consequently, to forbear them from extending the tenure of the Temporary Administrative Committee constituted for Masjid-e-Azam Wakf, bearing G.S.No.317/NA, Periyapet, Vaniyambadi Taluk, Tirupathur District, beyond its existing term, and to take steps for appointment of a regular Mutawalli and constitution of a duly elected/selected Managing Committee. Page2 of 5

¶2The case of the petitioner is that the Wakf has been under temporary administration for several decades and, despite generating substantial annual income, no regular Mutawalli has been appointed by the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board. Instead, Temporary Administrative Committees have been repeatedly constituted. Apprehending that the tenure of the existing Temporary Administrative Committee would once again be extended, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 20.06.2026 requesting the respondents not to grant any further extension and to initiate the process for appointment of a regular Mutawalli and constitution of a Managing Committee. As no action was taken on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition.

¶3Mr.M.Fakkir Mohideen, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, submitted that the election would be conducted within a period of three months.

¶4Recording the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, the present Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to conduct the election for appointment of a Mutawalli and constitution of the Managing Committee within a period of three (3) months from the date of Page3 of 5 receipt of a copy of this order. Till the completion of the election process, the existing Ad-hoc Committee shall continue. There shall be no order as to costs. 14-08-2026 Asi To
