For Petitioner(s): Ms.D.Ramya (In all WPs.) For Respondent(s): Mr.C.Gauthamaraj, Standing Counsel (In all WPs.) Page3 of 5 COMMON ORDER The above Writ Petitions have been filed seeking interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, namely Provident Fund (P.F.), Gratuity, Commuted Value of Pension, Surrender Leave Salary, and Earned Leave Salary.

¶2The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed in the respondent Transport Corporation on various dates and retired from service on various dates. However, their terminal benefits were settled belatedly, and no interest was paid for the period of delay. Therefore, the petitioners submitted several representations to the respondents requesting payment of interest for the delayed period. Since the said representations have not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

¶3The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would fairly submit that they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.

¶4Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

¶5In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Page4 of 5 Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of eligible and admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶6In the result, the Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs. 15-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SHR To The Managing Director Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (CBE) LTD., Mettupalayam Salai Coimbatore.
