ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's statutory appeal dated 30.06.2025 preferred against the Final Order dated 16.06.2025 passed in Proceedings No.2504 / Sa I / Tha.Aa.Po.Ka (Vi) / Ka.Ma. / 2024 by the 4th respondent and the subsequent representation dated 13.10.2025 for the reconsideration of the punishment imposed in the Final Order dated 16.06.2025 passed in proceedings No.2504 / Sa 1 /Tha.Aa.Po.Ka (Vi) / Ka.Ma. / 2024 by the 4th respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶2The case of the petitioner is that, the petitioner who was working as a Superintendent in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Villupuram) Limited, was issued a Charge Memorandum on 08.01.2025 alleging Page3 of 5 unauthorized possession of office files, which culminated in an enquiry report holding the charges proved despite his detailed explanations denying any violation of service regulations or financial loss to the Corporation. Consequently, the disciplinary authority passed a Final Order dated 16.06.2025 imposing a major punishment of reduction of his basic pay from Rs. 54,100/- to Rs. 51,000/- by two stages for two years with cumulative effect, severely affecting his future increments and service benefits. Aggrieved by this, the petitioner preferred a statutory appeal on 30.06.2025 before the Managing Director, followed by a representation dated 13.10.2025. However, the same were not considered to date. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court, to espouse the said cause.
¶3Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side.
¶4Considering the limited relief sought in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated
13.10.2025, dispose of the appeal dated 30.06.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Page4 of 5
