Judgment

ORDER This Civil Revision Petition has been filed, challenging the impugned order dated 12.03.2026 passed by the Additional District Court, Tiruvannamalai in I.A. No. 1 of 2025 in O.S. No. 234 of 2023.

¶2In the aforesaid order, the application filed by the petitioner/plaintiff, seeking for reception of additional documents, has been partly allowed by granting leave for the petitioner/plaintiff to file document Nos.1 to 7 and 9 to 11 subject to admissibility in evidence. But however, in so far as the document No.8 (Settlement deed) is concerned, I.A. No. 1 of 2025 has been dismissed since the said settlement deed is of the year 1991 and is an unregistered document and is also insufficiently stamped.

¶3The settlement deed conveys an immovable property, which has been recorded in the impugned order. When the document conveys immovable property, as rightly pointed out by the trial Court, it requires registration, and it has to be properly stamped. Admittedly, the settlement deed is an unregistered document and it is also not properly stamped. Therefore, rightly, the trial Court has dismissed the application in so far as the document No.8 is concerned, which is the settlement deed.

¶4This Court does not find any infirmity in the reasons given by the trial Court for dismissing the application in so far as the document No.8 (Settlement deed) is concerned.

¶5For the foregoing reasons, there is no merit in this Civil Revision Petition. Accordingly, this Civil Revision Petition is dismissed. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 29-07-2026 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes ab To The Additional District Court, Tiruvannamalai.
