¶2The allegation against the petitioner is that he borrowed Rs. 5,17,500/- from the defacto complainant on the promise of repayment, but failed to do so, thereby cheating the defacto complainant. Hence, the case.

¶3The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

¶4The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution and submitted that the petitioner borrowed Rs.5,17,500/- from the de facto complainant on the promise of repayment, but failed to do so, thereby cheating the defacto complainant. Hence, he opposed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

¶5Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

¶6Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the nature and gravity of the allegations, and the specific offense involving financial fraud to the tune of Rs. 5,17,500/- coupled with digital deception punishable under Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, this Court is of the view that the matter requires a thorough and deep investigation. ¶7Custodial interrogation of the petitioner may be essential to trace the trail of the cheated amount and to unearth the digital transactions involved in the alleged crime. If the petitioner is granted protection from arrest at this premature stage of the investigation, it would severely hamper the progress of the investigation.

¶8In view of the above stated facts and circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

¶9Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 17-07-2026 GBI To
