Janani v. The Commissioner of Police

ORDER (Order of the Court was made by Sunder Mohan J.) The mother of the minor girl, aged about four years and six months, had filed this petition, alleging that the minor child is in the illegal custody of her husband, who is the fifth respondent herein.

2.On 30.07.2026, the petitioner as well as the fifth respondent, along with the child, were produced before us.

3.Since the parties had expressed that there is a possibility of a settlement, we referred the petitioner and the fifth respondent to the Mediation Centre attached to this Court.

4.All the parties are present before us today.

5.It appears that pursuant to the mediation, the parties have arrived at a settlement. The parties have agreed that the petitioner shall have the custody of the minor child and the fifth respondent shall have visitation rights. The child is now in the custody of the petitioner.

6.The mediation report and the settlement agreement entered into between the parties is taken on record.
