Judgment

ORDER This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to provide adequate police protection to enable the petitioner to put up a fence around the property comprised in old S.No.558/1, measuring an extent of 0.97.00 hectare, and S.No.558/1B measuring an extent of 0.65.83 hectare, presently comprised in Survey No.558/1B2B, measuring an extent of 2657 sq.ft. situated at Sungalnatham Village, Pennagaram Taluk.

¶2Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3. Perused the materials available on record.

¶3A perusal of the submissions made by the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) reveals that there is a civil dispute between the petitioner and the fourth respondent with regard to the subject property. Therefore, the petitioner lodged the present complaint seeking police protection for putting up a fence around the property. Since the dispute between Page3 of 4 the petitioner and the fourth respondent is purely civil in nature, police protection cannot be granted. Therefore, this Court finds no merit in this writ petition.

¶4Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief. No costs. 21-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order LPP To
