Judgment
O R D E R This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the first respondent dated 25.06.2026, thereby directed both the parties namely, the petitioners and the respondents 4 to 10 herein not to conduct any festival for the Arulmighu Gangaiamman Temple, Balur Village, Peranambut Taluk, Vellore District and to not to create any law and order problem.
2.The petitioners are one party and respondents 4 to 10 are counter parties. Both are claiming administrative right over the Arulmighu Gangaiamman Temple. Every year there is dispute between both the groups and there was peace committee meeting conducted by the revenue authorities. Thereafter festival was conducted. This year also there is dispute between both the parties and the matter has been referred before the first respondent for conducting enquiry. After due enquiry, both the petitioners and the respondents 4 to 10 failed to arrive at an amicable settlement, since both are claiming right over the Temple for conducting the festival. In view of the above, the first respondent rightly rejected the request made by the petitioners and respondents 4 to 10 herein and passed the impugned order.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are ready to conduct the festival in the presence of Police Officials, however, the respondents 4 to 10 herein are objecting the same and they want to conduct the festival for the Arulmighu Gangaiamman Temple.
4.In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order dated 25.06.2026 passed by the first respondent. The writ petition is dismissed. However, the petitioners and respondents 4 to 10 are at liberty to approach the civil Court for appropriate relief. In the meanwhile, if they settle the issues amicably by themselves, let them approach the third respondent seeking permission to conduct festival for Arulmighu Gangaiamman Temple, Balur Village, Peranambut Taluk, Vellore District.
5.The writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
