¶2The petitioner is working as Assistant Executive Engineer, in Zone 6 of the Greater Chennai Corporation at Strahans Road, Thiru.Vi.Ka.Nagar, Pattalam, Chennai – 600 012. Challenging the same, the present writ petition has been filed.
¶3Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
¶4The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the Page3 of 5 writ petition has been filed for the aforementioned relief, it would suffice that this Court may direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to retire on
31.07.2026, in the light of the amendment to Rule 56 of the Tamil Nadu Fundamental Rules.
¶5The learned counsel for the respondents are also agreeable to the same, however, without prejudice to their right to continue the pending disciplinary proceedings.
