Judgment
ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 23.12.2021, 08.11.2023, 26.02.2024 and 09.10.2025.
¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's father and his brother had entered into a partition deed dated 15.06.1992 (Doc. No. 1761 of 1992). Since there was an error in the said partition deed, the petitioner's father filed O.S. No. 95 of 2018 on 20.06.2018, and the same was decreed on 08.11.2018. Thereafter, when the petitioner verified the mutation entries, he found that the extent of the subject property had been wrongly mentioned as 1.43 acres instead of '1.50 acres' in Patta No. 1453. Hence, the petitioner has been continuously submitting representations before the respondents since 2021, seeking necessary UDR correction. However, despite the lapse of several years, the said representations have not been considered till date. Challenging the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. Page2 of 5
¶3In response, Mr.B.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the second respondent, being the competent authority, would consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of eight weeks.
¶4Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent/District Revenue Officer, Namakkal, to consider the petitioner's representation seeking necessary UDR correction and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and affording him an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
¶5With the above observations and directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. 07-08-2026 Asi Page3 of 5 To
