Judgment

ORDER The prayer in this Criminal Original Petition is to transfer the investigation in Crime No.56 of 2026 on the file of the first respondent to the file of the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Tambaram.

¶2The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that, originally, no FIR was registered and, therefore, the petitioner approached the jurisdictional Magistrate, pursuant to which a direction was issued. Even thereafter, considerable time was taken to register the FIR. It is further submitted that, even after registration of the FIR, no progress has been made in the investigation.

¶3When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the investigation would be completed in accordance with law and a final report would be filed.

¶4Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and taking note of the fact that the total amount due is said to be more than one crore, and also considering that, in the normal course, such matters are being entrusted to the Central Crime Branch, Tambaram, this Court is of the Page3 of 5 view that the investigation may be transferred to the Central Crime Branch, Tambaram.

¶5In view of the above, this Criminal original Petition is ordered on the following terms:

(i) The second respondent or the appropriate authority shall pass necessary orders transferring crime No.56 of 2026 from the file of the first respondent to the file of the Central Crime Branch, Tambaram. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) Thereafter, the central Crime Branch, Tambaram, shall continue the investigation and complete the same and file a final report in accordance with law within a period of five months therefrom.

¶6Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is allowed. 06-08-2026 av Page4 of 5 To
