Judgment

¶2The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had purchased a flat under a registered Sale Deed in the year 2024 from M/s. Alliance Projects. While things stood thus, the District Revenue Officer, Tiruvallur, vide proceedings dated 14.02.2018, cancelled the patta standing in the name of M/s. Alliance Projects and directed mutation of the revenue records in favour of a Trust, solely on the basis of a judgment in O.S. No. 356/1972. However, the said judgment had already been reversed by the appellate court judgment in A.S. No. 149/1975, which fact was suppressed before the revenue authorities. Although the order of the District Revenue Officer was subsequently challenged before this Court in W.A. No. 610/2026, this Court directed that the DRO's order shall remain in abeyance and granted liberty to all the parties to approach the revenue authorities for the issuance of patta. Pursuant thereto, the Orchid Springs Flat Owners Association submitted a representation dated 06.07.2026 seeking restoration of the patta. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the petitioner has approached this Court with the present Writ Petition.

¶3In reply, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 5 would submit that the petitioner's representation dated

06.07.2026 will be disposed of by the 5th respondent within a period of six weeks. Page4 of 6

¶4Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

¶5In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 5th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.07.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner.

¶6With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 06-08-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SK To
