¶2The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner's account was identified as a suspected "mule account" used for receiving the proceeds of online cheating and a sum of Rs.22,79,453.62/- was credited through the petitioner's bank account. Hence, this case.
¶3The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person. He further submitted that he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition imposed by this court. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
¶4Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution's case submitted that the transactions connected with NCRP complaints amounted to a sum of Rs.22,79,453.62/- and they were credited through the bank account of the petitioner who had knowingly permitted the other accused viz., A2 and A3 to use his bank account for receiving, transferring and withdrawing the proceeds of online cheating. ¶6Considering the submissions of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), and that the petitioner is one of the beneficiaries in the alleged transactions involving a substantial amount of Rs.22,79,453.62/-. In such view of the serious nature of the allegations, the alleged role attributed to the petitioner and the fact that the investigation is still pending, this Court is of the view that the petitioner does not deserve the grant of bail.
¶7Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 14-08-2026 GV To
