Judgment

ORDER (Order of the Court was made by Sunder Mohan J.) The mother of the convict prisoner - Prakash [PID No.31205], S/o. Ramasamy, aged about 33 years, who is confined at Central Prison, Coimbatore, aggrieved by the condition to execute bond and sureties before the Tahsildar has filed the above Writ Petition.

¶2Admittedly, the convict prisoner was granted leave of 28 days by the prison authorities and vide order dated 04.08.2026, the petitioner and the convict prisoner were directed to execute a bond with two sureties to the satisfaction of the Tahsildar.

¶3The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the convict prisoner may be permitted to execute a bond and also furnish sureties to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Central Prison, Coimbatore/second respondent instead of the Tahsildar.

¶4The learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Crl.Side), has no objection for such a request.

¶5Hence, we permit the petitioner to execute the bond and produce sureties before the Superintendent of Central Prison, Coimbatore/second respondent instead of the Tahsildar.

¶6The writ petition is allowed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (A.S.M.,J.) (S.M.,J.) 20-08-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Issue Order Copy by 21.08.2026. dk To
