¶4While being so, on 07.10.2025, there was an incident took place before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, in the presence of leader of a political party, wherein the petitioner was assaulted and his two wheeler was also damaged. When he entered the premises of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu for his safety, even there, the cadres of the above said political party brutally attacked him and also damaged the articles belonging to the Bar Council. Further on 14.10.2025, at the main gate of this Court, the cadres of the said political party protested against the persons, who had raised their voices against the said leader. They abused the petitioner in filthy languages and also threatened him with dire consequences. They also threatened the petitioner that they would come again. Their statements were recorded and published in the social media. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the fourth respondent. Based on the said complaint, an enquiry is now pending.
¶5The learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent submitted that even according to the petitioner's complaint, the allegations made therein are only trivial in nature and as such, no FIR can be registered on the complaint lodged by the petitioner.
¶6The learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submitted that, based on the Page4 of 6 complaint lodged by the petitioner, an enquiry is now pending. However, there is no life threat to the petitioner at the hands of any political party.
¶7In view of the above, the fourth respondent is directed to register an FIR on the complaint lodged by the petitioner and proceed with the investigation in accordance with law. Insofar as the life threat is concerned, the third respondent is directed to look into the complaint lodged by the petitioner seeking police protection and, on receipt of the same, conduct an enquiry and dispose of the same within a period of four weeks from today.
¶8With the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 06-08-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order LPP To
