ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to cancel the patta bearing Patta No.2168 in respect of S.No.159/12B2, situated at Poongudaiyar Village, Cheran Mahadevi Taluk, Tirunelveli District, in accordance with the order passed by the second respondent in Ni.M.C.P.No:/137(7249)/2025/AA3, dated 28.08.2025, and consequently, direct the third respondent to restore S.No.159/12B (now S.No.159/12B2) in the name of the petitioner's father, as per the said order of the second respondent, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

¶2By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

¶3Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the respondents 4 and 5, notice to the respondents 4 and 5 is hereby dispensed with.

¶4The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the patta bearing Patta No.2168 in respect of S.No.159/12B2, Poongudaiyar Village, Cheran Mahadevi Taluk, Tirunelveli District, has been erroneously recorded and is required to be cancelled. The second respondent, by order in Ni.M.C.P.No:/137

It is further submitted that the third respondent has not yet complied with the directions contained in the said order, resulting in prejudice to the petitioner. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

¶5The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the third respondent will consider the case of the petitioner on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

¶6Recording the above submissions, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's case on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, taking into account the order passed by the second respondent, dated 28.08.2025.
