Judgment

ORDER The petitioner, claiming to be a Siddha Medical Practitioner has come to this Court stating that he has, during COVID-19 lockdown, analysed 30 herbal concoctions and has prepared a medicinal powder for curing the disease SARS-CoV2. This is a simple concoction which is a powder, which has to be mixed with hot water and consumed. The petitioner has sent a detailed representation setting out the details of the concoction and its effects to the fifth respondent. In fact, the District Collector, Madurai had directed the Joint Director of Public Health and Rural Works, who has been arrayed as the fifth respondent to take action on the representation. However, no step whatsoever has been taken to date. Therefore, the present writ petition.

¶2The petitioner would submit that the need for alternate medicine was felt during the COVID-19 crisis. He would submit that the corona virus results in severe respiratory infections which can be resolved by consuming the medical herbs and shrubs. In fact, it is his contention that the usage of the traditional herbal medicines had given good results.

¶3Considering the fact that the limited prayer of the petitioner is to consider his representation dated 28.02.2020, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the fifth respondent to consider same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
