Judgment
ORDER This Criminal Original Petition had been filed seeking for a direction against the second respondent police to provide police protection to the petitioner to enable him to fence the petitioner's property based on the complaints, dated 22/6/2022, 22/9/2022 and 21/2/2023.
2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the alleged property is a Government porambokk land, over which, the petitioner and other persons were claiming title. In this regard, a peace committee meeting was held, in which, a resolution was taken by the parties to approach the competent authority to resolve their issues. They also agreed not to make any trouble with each other, till the disposal of proceedings before the competent authority.
3.In view of the above said resolution taken in the peace committee meeting and considering the issue is with regard to the title of the property, there can be no grant of police protection to the petitioner. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the competent authority or civil Court, in the manner known to law.
4.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
