Judgment

ORDER This petition has been filed challenging the impugned order bearing No.Na.Ka.No.64/2026/Aa3 dated 23.03.2026 passed by the 1st respondent only with respect to rejection of Adal Padal program alone, with a consequential direction to the 1st and 2nd respondents to grant permission for conducting Adal Padal and cultural programme scheduled on 23.03.2026 to 02.04.2026 in Arulmighu Angala Eswari Muneeswarar Alayam, situated in Vilar Road, Anna Nagar, Thanjavur District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated

20.03.2026.

¶2The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that permission with respect to the cultural programme as sought for by the temple committee for the conduct of the temple festival has been negated by the first respondent and sought for indulgence of this Court.

¶3A careful perusal of the impugned order would make it clear that permission for the conduct of Adal Padal and Music Program has been denied. In view of the same, making it clear that no program shall be conducted beyond 10:00 p.m., during festival dates, the temple committee is permitted to conduct karagaattam, oyilaattam, religious dramas and religious music concerts only till 10:00 p.m.

¶4Accordingly, the impugned order dated 23.03.2026 is quashed only insofar as the condition No.3. and this writ petition is partly allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
