Judgment

ORDER Heard the learned senior counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

2.The only relief sought for by the petitioner is for effecting change of classification and uploading the same in the computer chitta in respect of the petition mentioned survey numbers.

3.The learned senior counsel for the petitioner drew my attention to the materials enclosed in the typed set of papers as well as the averments set out in the respective pleadings.

4.The first respondent is directed to conduct enquiry in the matter. The scope of the enquiry shall be limited. All that the first respondent has to see whether in respect of the petition mentioned survey numbers, the settlement authority had passed appropriate proceedings directing issuance of patta. It is well settled that finality attaches to the orders passed by any settlement authority. They are binding on the revenue department. So long as the order passed by the settlement authority is holding good, the revenue authority is bound to make corresponding changes in their records. Once the first respondent satisfied himself that in respect of the petition mentioned survey numbers, pattas have been granted, the change of classification shall be effected and it will also be uploaded in the computer chitta in respect of the petition mentioned properties. The entire exercise shall be completed by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
