ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/sole accused, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 384 IPC in Crime No.564 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant's daughter, who is minor girl, got acquainted with the petitioner herein and developed friendship. By misusing the same, the petitioner demanded money from her and also threatened her. The victim also gave 60 sovereigns of gold jewels to the petitioner. Hence, the case.

3.While granting interim anticipatory bail, this Court referred this matter to the mediation centre with regard to the remaining jewels. The petitioner is also ready and willing to hand over 19 sovereigns of jewels belonging to the victim. Now, mediation also failed and the petitioner disputed the fact that the victim had CRL OP(MD)No.9167 of 2023 given 60 sovereigns of gold jewels. However, he is ready and willing to hand over 19 sovereigns of gold jewels.

4.Considering the above, the interim anticipatory bail already granted on 18.05.2023, is hereby made absolute on condition that the petitioner shall deposit 19 sovereigns of gold jewels to the credit of Cr.No.564 of 2022 before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.VI, Madurai, within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. sd/- 22/06/2023 / TRUE COPY / /07/2023 Sub-Assistant Registrar (C.S.)
