Palanisamy v. The District Revenue Officer

ORDER The writ petition has been filed in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction, particularly to the second respondent, Revenue Divisional Officer, Devakottai, Sivagangai, to rectify a mistake in the computerised patta in Patta No.155 for the land in Survey No.32/3 measuring 4.54.5 ares belonging to Karuppannaswamy Kovil trust at Melayur Village Group, Ayyapatti Village,Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District. It had been wrongly classified as Government poromboke land. The petitioner had given an application dated 08.09.2021. Learned counsel stated that the Tahsildar had also acknowledged that the entry had been wrongly classified in the computerised version.

¶2At any rate, let the Revenue Divisional Officer, Devakottai, Sivagangai District, call for the revenue records, issue notice to the petitioner herein and thereafter, examine the credentials of the petitioner and if there has been a mistake in the computerised patta, take necessary steps in accordance with law to rectify the same. The entire exercise may be completed within a period of twelve(12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
