Judgment

ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned order passed by the 2nd respondent in Refusal No.RFL/Pettai/66/2026 dated 30.04.2026 and also seeking for a consequential direction to the 2nd respondent to register the Release Deed executed in favour of the petitioner's brother.

¶2Mr.S.Siva Thilakar, learned counsel for State of Tamil Nadu takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

¶3The grievance of the petitioner is that when the petitioner presented a release deed dated 29.04.2026 for registration, the same was refused to be registered by the 2nd respondent and a refusal check slip in RFL/Pettai/66/2026 dated 30.04.2026 was issued. Challenging the same, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

¶4The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that since the petitioner was unable to produce the original document, the second respondent has returned the same. He would further submit that now the petitioner is ready to produce the original document and therefore, the impugned order may be set aside and remitted back to the second respondent for reconsideration of the same.

¶5Mr.S.Siva Thilakar, learned Counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents would submit that if the petitioner is ready to produce the original document before the authorities, they are ready to register the same.

¶6In view of the above, the impugned refusal check slip issued by the 2nd respondent in No.RFL/Pettai/66/2026 dated 30.04.2026, is set aside. The petitioner is permitted to re-present the release deed dated 30.04.2026, before the second respondent, along with the original document and after receipt of the same, the second respondent shall register the said release deed forthwith. In the event of failing to produce the original document by the petitioner, the second respondent is at liberty to refuse such registration.

¶7With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
