Judgment

O R D E R This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to reinstate the petitioner into service with all promotional and monetary benefits by considering the representation dated

03.05.2026 submitted by the petitioner.

¶2On 29.06.2026, when the matter was taken up for admission, Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu, who took notice for the respondents, made an objection with regard to the maintainability of this writ petition as the proceedings bearing Na.Ka.No.E3/32158/2018, dated 15.10.2018, through which the petitioner was removed from service, has not been challenged and also on the ground that the petitioner has already availed the alternative remedy of appeal as against the said proceedings dated 15.10.2018 by filing an appeal before the first respondent and the same is still pending consideration. In view of the said objection, this matter was adjourned to today to enable the learned counsel for the petitioner to get proper instructions in this regard.

¶3Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is unaware of the pendency of the appeal that was filed as early as in the year 2018 before the first respondent and seeks indulgence of this Court to direct the first respondent to dispose of the said appeal.

¶4In the light of the above, this writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner as against the proceedings dated 15.10.2018 together with the recent representation dated 03.05.2026 submitted by the petitioner, by duly affording an opportunity to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
