Judgment

O RDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

2.It is submitted by the learned counsel that the petitioner is the accused in Crime No.17 of 2019 registered for the offence under Section 306 IPC on the file of the Radhapuram Police Station and that the respondent No.1 police have been demanding the petitioner to deposit an amount of Rs.5,00,000/- as compensation in favour of the respondent No.3, whose wife and daughter died.

3.The Government Advocate (Crl.side) on the other hand while denying the allegations submitted that the petitioner is involved in threatening the respondent No.3 not to be the witness in Crime No.17 of 2019 for the offence under Section 306 IPC, wherein his wife and daughter died. It is submitted further that on a complaint given by the respondent No.3, another case has been registered against the petitioner in Crime No.160 of 2023 for the offence under Sections 341, 294(b) and 506(i) IPC. He further submitted that the respondent police have not directed the petitioner to deposit a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- as compensation.

4.Since a criminal case has been registered against the petitioner for allegedly threatening the respondent No.3, no further directions are required to be given, thereby this Petition is closed. It is needless to state that the respondent police shall not direct the petitioner to deposit any money forcibly as compensation to the respondent No.3.
