ORDER This petition has been filed seeking to transfer of the investigation in Crime No. 205 of 2024 from the file of the 3rd respondent police to the 4th respondent or some other impartial investigating agency based on the petitioner's representation dt. 26.06.2024.

¶2The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the case in Crime No. 205 of 2024 was registered for the offences punishable under Sections 120B, 417, 419, 420, 464, 465 & 471 of IPC as against one Karthikeyan and Nishalni. However, even after the registration of the FIR, there has been no progress in the investigation.

¶3Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the investigation is still ongoing, and no accused has been arrested so far and the complaint is with respect to impersonation and creation of forged mortgage deed in favour of a third party. The learned Government Advocate further submitted that a new Inspector has taken charge in place of the 3rd respondent, and that the investigation is being actively pursued and is likely to be completed within a reasonable time frame.

¶4It is seen that not in a single stone has been turned aside by the 3rd respondent police in the pending investigation. However, in the meanwhile, the learned Government Advocate submitted that a new Inspector of Police has taken charge in place of the third respondent.

¶5In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent police to take up the investigation as expeditiously as possible and also to conclude the same within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order by appraising the progress of the investigation to the first respondent every Friday.
