The petitioner has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 & 2 to convene a peace committee meeting for the conduct of a festival of Arulmighu Kaliamman Temple, Kumarampatti, Pudhuvadi Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy.

2.Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that there is no provision enabling the revenue officials or the police to conduct a peace committee meeting and they are not having any statutory force. However, it is reported by the learned Additional Government Pleader that the Tahsildar, Manapparai has initiated a peace committee proceedings in Na.Ka.No.A5/3883/2023, dated

18.07.2023.

3.Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ petition is closed with a liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy with the Tahsildar. Manapparai. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
