The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents 1, 2 and 4 to take appropriate steps to rectify and repair the substandard roads, stagnation of sewage water, and accumulation of garbage in Munneerpallam Village, Tirunelveli District, in accordance with law, by considering the petitioner's representation dated

3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted a communication issued by the Block Development Officer, Palayamkottai, in Na.Ka.No.Aa3/1546/2025, dated 08.04.2026. 4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that in Munneerpallam Village Panchayat, resolutions have been passed for carrying out road improvement works in various streets at an estimated cost of Rs.9.03 lakhs under the 15th Finance Commission Grant for the year 2025–2026. Administrative sanction has been obtained, and the proposal has been forwarded to the District Administration for necessary approval. Further, for addressing drinking water requirements, a project for installation of a 30,000-litre capacity overhead water tank has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs.19.71 lakhs under the 15th Finance Commission Grant. Necessary administrative approval has been obtained from the District Collector. Steps are being taken to commence the above works at the earliest, subject to the availability of funds, and priority will be given to completing the road works and related infrastructure improvements.

5.Recording the above submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader and the contents of the communication placed before this Court, this Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs. [N.S.K.,J.] [M.J.R.,J.]
