Periyar Mani @ Manivel v. The Principal Secretary to Government

DISMISSED
Court
High Court of Madras
Decided
8 August 2023
Bench
G.R.Swaminathanauthor, B.Pugalendhi
Case no.
WP(MD) 19111/2023

Judgment

ORDER Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents.

¶2The allegation of the petitioner is that the 8th respondent had installed electric poles on the two water bodies situated in the petitioner's village.

¶3We went through the materials on record. We had a look at the photographs enclosed in the typed set of papers. We are not satisfied that on account of the erection of the poles, the overall storage capacity or the extent of the water body would be adversely affected. The only grievance which the petitioner can possibly have is as regards the safety aspects. We therefore direct the jurisdictional revenue authorities as well as TANGEDCO to ensure that the electric poles have been installed on a firm and stable foundation. We do not find any ground to interfere.

¶4The Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
