Judgment
O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the high tension lines passing through the petitioner's property situated in Plot No.4, T.S.No.7/3A (Part), Trichy (Old S.No. 131/1C1A), Ward No.12, Block No.1, Pandamangalam Village, Kulumani Road, Woraiyur, Tiruchirappalli, and consequently direct the respondents to pay compensation for the alleged illegal erection of the said high tension lines, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026.
¶2Heard Mr. K.K. Senthil, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. S. Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
¶3By consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
¶4The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the property in question and that high tension electric lines have been erected across the petitioner's property. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.06.2026 to the respondents seeking removal of the high tension lines and payment of compensation. Since the said representation has not been considered so far, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
¶5The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that, without going into the merits of the claim, it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶6The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has no serious objection to such a direction being issued.
¶7Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
