Chelladurai v. The Inspector of Police

This petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking for quashment of FIR in Crime No.192 of 2023, dated 28.05.2023, on the file of the first respondent police against the petitioners for the offences under Sections 447 and 323 of I.P.C. r/w Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

¶2Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners.

¶3When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the respondent Police have completed the investigation and charge sheet is also filed before the concerned Court.

¶4Since the charge sheet has already been filed, this Criminal Original Petition which is filed seeking for quashment of FIR becomes infructuous.

¶5Considering the same, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, the petitioners are at liberty to approach the Court for quashment of charge sheet, after it was taken cognizance.. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
