Judgment
O R D E R Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu, takes notice for the respondents.
¶2With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.
¶3Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents.
¶4The petitioner herein, who worked as a Salesman in the third respondent – Society, retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.04.2023. However, the gratuity amount that was payable to the petitioner, has not been paid as on date. Hence, the petitioner claims to have submitted a representation dated 29.12.2025 to the third respondent requesting for release of the gratuity amount of Rs.2,94,484/- together with interest. Complaining inaction against the respondents in considering his representation, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.
¶5Learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents submits that the third respondent – Society is facing financial crisis and therefore, it will take some more time for release of the gratuity amount payable to the petitioner.
¶6Be that as it may, the petitioner's representation is still pending consideration before the third respondent and therefore, this Court is not inclined to go into the merits of the matter.
¶7Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent to consider the representation dated 29.12.2025 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law for release of the gratuity amount payable to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
