Sundaram v. The Superintendent of Police

O R D E R This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents Police to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting temple festival and sacrificing of goats function followed by almsgiving on 13.08.2023 between 07.00 a.m. and 05.00 p.m., at Sri Vemani Rakkammal Temple, Periyakottai Village, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District.

¶2When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents Police submits that the representation of the petitioner dated 03.08.2023 will be considered and the Police will provide protection as per the directions issued in the Circular by the Deputy General of Police.

¶3Considering the circumstances, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents Police to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.08.2023 and grant relief as sought for by the petitioner as per the Circular issued by the Deputy General of Police. There shall be no order as to costs.
