Case no.
WP(MD) 14002/2015

Judgment

ORDER Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner's request for supply of electricity was denied on the ground that the construction made by the petitioner is right beneath the overhead lines.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner had only demolished the earlier structure and put up a new one and that the earlier structure enjoyed electricity service connection. The learned standing counsel clarifies that the earlier connection is still available and that connection has been refused only for the extended portion that has been put up unauthorisedly.

4.This stand of the respondent is placed on record. The petitioner is given liberty to approach the respondent for shifting the overhead lines. Of course, the respondent will prepare a reasonable estimate and on payment of costs by the petitioner, the overhead lines may be shifted as per norms.

5.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
