Judgment
ORDER I passed the following order on 06.11.2023:- "The learned counsel for the petitioner is absent. By an order in W.P.(MD).No.19457 of 2015 dated 11.11.2019, this Court had set aside the order refusing to grant "destitute widow" certificate to the writ petitioner by the fifth respondent and remanded the matter for a fresh consideration whether the petitioner is a destitute widow or not.
¶2Mr.Paneer Selvam, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent has produced a letter from the Deputy Secretary, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission dated 11.10.2023, wherein, it has been stated as follows: "kDjhuH jdpahH gs;spapy; Mrphpiaahfg; gzpGhpe;J mjd; %yk; khj tUkhdk; <l;Lk; eguhf ,Ug;gjpdhYk;> jpUkzkhfhj tUkhdk; <l;Lk; epiyapy; cs;s kfdpd; MjuT cs;sjhYk;> FLk;g Xa;T +jpak; ngWk; jhahhpd; MjuT cs;sJ vd;gjhy; kDjhuUf;F tho;f;iff;fhd tho;thjhuk; cs;sJ. kDjhuH Mjutw;w epiyapy; tho;e;J tUtJ tprhuizapy; cWjp nra;ag;gltpy;iy vd;gjhy; kDjhuUf;F Mjutw;w tpjitr; rhd;W toq;f khHf;fkpy;iy vd ghHit 2-y; fz;l nray;Kiwfspd; gb Mizaplg;gl;L Nkw;gb tpguk; kDjhuUf;F

¶3The learned Government Advocate is requested to produce the order of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelveli passed pursuant to the order of this Court dated 11.11.2019.
¶4Post the matter on 08.11.2023."
2.The claim of the petitioner is predicated on the ground that she is the 'destitute widow' and therefore, entitled to continue her appointment. Originally, her application to be declared as destitute widow has been rejected. That had been interfered with by this Court and the matter had been remanded to the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer for the purpose of reconsideration.
3.On reconsideration, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sankarankovil has again reiterated the conclusion that the petitioner is not a destitute widow. Consequentially, cancellation of appointment under the said category cannot be found fault with. It is pertinent to point out that till date the proceedings of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sankarankovil declaring the petitioner as not destitute widow has not been put to challenge. Under such circumstances, I have no other option than to upheld the order of cancellation of appointment. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
